StrikeWindow is a solunar activity and weather application for fishing and hunting. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Location Data
- What: GPS coordinates or manually entered location
- Why: To calculate solunar activity scores, weather forecasts, and sunrise/sunset times specific to your location
- Storage: Saved locally on your device only — never transmitted to our servers
Usage Data (Firebase)
- What: App feature flag configuration fetched from Firebase Remote Config
- Why: To remotely configure app features without requiring an update
- Firebase may collect anonymous diagnostic data per Google's Privacy Policy
- No personally identifiable information is sent to Firebase
Weather Data
- What: Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve forecasts
- Why: To display weather conditions for your location
- Open-Meteo is a free, open-source API that does not require account creation. See Open-Meteo's privacy policy
Map & Geocoding Data
- What: Your coordinates are used to fetch map tiles and reverse geocode locations
- Why: To display maps and convert coordinates to place names
- Provider: OpenStreetMap / Nominatim. See OpenStreetMap's privacy policy
On-Device AI Android only
- Solunar and weather data is processed locally by Gemini Nano (Google AI Core)
- This generates a plain-language daily activity summary
- This processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to external AI servers by StrikeWindow.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
- The app displays banner ads served by Google AdMob to support ongoing development
- AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA), IP address, and general app usage signals to serve relevant ads
- StrikeWindow does not pass your location, solunar data, or any app-specific content to AdMob
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not create user accounts
- We do not collect your name, email, or any contact information
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties
- We do not track you across other apps or websites for our own purposes
Data Storage
All app data (saved locations, preferences) is stored locally on your device. We have no access to this data.

Children's Privacy
StrikeWindow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
